Groundbreaking Ceremony of 19 Centres of Excellence was held in Government College of Technology, Allama Iqbal Town, Lahore. Under IWRP project 16 TEVTA and 3 PVTC institutions will be upgraded into Centres of Excellence. In Punjab this project will be proved as game-changer in producing skilled workforce as stated by Chaudhry Shafay Hussain Minister Punjab for Industries, Commerce, Investment and Skills Development Dept. He appreciated that in all these Centres of Excellence upgraded DAE and CBTA courses will be offered and access to technical and vocational education will be easier for youth and hence will get decent employment opportunities.

Moreover Mr. Adnan Afzal Chattha Chairperson Chief Minister Task Force for Skills Development has said that under this project 37,000 students will be benefited, he also said that 64% youth population is not a burden but the future of the country.

Dr. Ehsan Bhutta Secretary ICI&SDD also emphasized that the destiny of the country can be changed by making the youth skilled, whereas Mr. Zohaib Mushtaq Project director presented a welcome note and highlighted the significant aspects of the project. On this occasion Mr. Khalid Masood Chairman PVTC, Brigadier (Retd.) Muhammad Sajid Khokhar Chairperson TEVTA and other distinguished guests also participated.
