PIU-ICI&SDD is implementing IWRP project of Punjab Government with the financial cooperation of Asian Development Bank to bring quality and relevance in TVET sector through fostering equitable access and strengthening institutional reforms.

Upon the direction of worthy Project Director PIU Mr. Zohaib Mushtaq, the training conducted by Ms. Sehar Shah, Financial Management Specialist from ADB, was focused on equipping PIU staff with a comprehensive understanding of ADB’s financial management (FM) policies. Key areas of emphasis included making informed financing decisions, ensuring the stewardship of the entity’s resources, and ensuring compliance with legal covenants under the project framework.

Attendees of the training included Mr. Avais Iqbal Khan, Deputy Director PIU (Admin & Finance), Mr. Zaid Akbar Bhutta MIS Specialist, and Mr. Shahid Iqbal, Accounts Officer. The training was conducted online, ensuring that all participants were well-versed in the critical aspects of financial management necessary for the successful execution of the project.

An important highlight of the project is the implementation of QuickBooks, computerized accounting software. PIU-IWRP project is one of its kind in Pakistan to adopt this accounting software. It is worth mentioning that this software aims to streamline financial processes, ensuring accuracy and transparency in financial reporting and management.
