An engaging training session on Environment, Gender Sensitivity, Social Safeguard, and Build4Skills was organized for ADB-funded construction sites, particularly in COE’s under the IWRP Project. Representatives from GIZ highlighted the importance of practice-oriented TVET in infrastructure projects, emphasizing its role in enhancing employability, promoting workplace-based training, and improving the project’s image within the community.
Under the IWRPP, 193 TVET trainees will be placed at 17 construction sites, selected from 400 interviewed trainees. This initiative aims to build trust, ensure quality work, and provide practical exposure for TVET students.
Furthermore, PIU officers briefed participants on the importance of establishing safe and hygienic facilities for female workers, following environmental protocols, maintaining an effective grievance redress mechanism, conducting risk assessments, implementing proper safety measures, and sheer compliance of ADB rules and regulations whereas regular inspections will also be conducted to ensure adherence. The session concluded with the distribution of certificates among participants by worthy Project Director Mr. Zohaib Mushtaq and Director Training Mr. Shair Ali.
